Running, Cycling and Triathlon are coaching specialities of our team, having coached hundreds of clients to improve performance in running, cycling and triathlon. We have trained clients of all abilities to run from 5k to marathon and to cycle for Triathlon, Time Trials, Sportives and Charity Rides.

We offer Wattbike Coaching in London and have put together a range of services to ensure you become a better cyclist across a range of distances including Sportive, Time Trial and Triathlon. Services include Cycle Fitness Testing, Personal Training Programmes and Pedalling Technique Analysis.


The Lift Fitness have a Wattbike which developed in conjunction with British Cycling  measures the key parameters of cycle fitness including; peak & average power, max & average heart rate, power to weight ratio. We use this data to calculate your heart rate and power training zones to ensure you train smarter and cycle faster.

Pedalling technique analysis 

The Wattbike measures power applied on every pedal stroke and enables the Wattbike Coach to analyse your pedalling technique to see where you are applying the power during the pedal stroke and which leg is contributing the most power. During this technique session the coach will talk you through how you are currently pedalling and identify ways in which you can improve your technique to improve performance. You will practice this in the session and be given drills to practice out on the road.

Run Performance Coaching and Training

The Lift Fitness team are passionate runners and have coached themselves and hundreds of clients to achieve running goals at all the distances from 5k to ultra marathons.

 

We provide one on one run coaching in Twickenham, Richmond Upon Thames, Teddington and Kingston Upon Thames, group training with our Run Lift Sessions in Bushy Park and run technique improvement and training programmes both to individuals and groups including running clubs and charities. The Lift provide training services to 2 of the biggest charity running teams at the London Marathon and have provided consultancy services to a number of running events.

For our 1 to 1 training we always start with a goal setting consultation to discuss your running and exercise history and to discuss which goals you would like to achieve.

Marathon Training 2012

 

Marathon Running is a passion and a training speciality of The Lift team, with Sarona and Simon having  run 15 marathons between them and coached hundreds of clients to achieve their goals over the marathon distance. These have ranged from training for a marathon from scratch in 16 weeks to running a marathon in under 3 hours. We train individuals, groups and charity teams and have presented at running shows and to charity teams on how to prepare for the marathon.

 

Running is a high impact activity which places an increased load on the body, over the period of a typical marathon training programme marathon runners will typically run in excess of 300 miles. This volume of training and the fact that it is normally preceded by a much lower volume increases the risk of runners picking up injuries during training. Research has indicated that around 30% of runners who start training for a marathon drop out due to injury or failure to increase the mileage. 

 

The team at The Lift Fitness have put together a range of services to ensure that those training for the 2012 Virgin London Marathon prepare correctly and can maximise their performance and reduce risk of injury. The key factors in achieving this are managing and structuring training load, strengthening and conditioning key musculature, rest and recovery, nutrition, flexibility and mobility and sports massage.
